About
Granville Forbes Architects Ltd
ARCHITECTS ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL
I am an experienced, self motivated British registered architect with an
extensive working knowledge of UK
Planning, Building Regulations and Construction.
I can work alone but love to be part of a vibrant design group to generate a built environment in which
architecture supports human activity with a
Place-Specific Urban connection.
To this end I use AutoCAD, Revit, Word Excel, Sketch-up and a web-site program called BlueVoda.

I prefer working on mid to long term contracts for either
part or all of the week and will consider all options,
in-house or remote working. I seek interesting projects
and pleasant colleagues.

The Passivhaus Trust (PHT) is an independent industry leading organisation that promotes the adoption of Passivhaus in the UK.
PHT is part of the global Passivhaus movement and the UK affiliate of the
International Passive House Association (iPHA).
We are very passionate about reduction and the route to low carbon. Adopting an efficient first approach is crucial to meeting carbon targets. We are looking at what can be done at the design stage to achieve the biggest impact. Buildings are a significant culprit of carbon emissions – and are accountable for 35% of total global energy consumption.
We are part of the UK Passivhaus organisation.
We design our buildings to use very little energy for heating and cooling. Some properties in Europe use up to 90% less energy. This can be obtained in various ways like making best use of sun and shade, quality Insulation and airtight construction.
